A combed back hairstyle is very popular at this moment in time and its certainly a trend that seems to never go away. The funny thing is that you could say it has always been an option for men over the last century. It started out way back in the 1920’s and was featured heavily again during the 1950’s with the Pompadour hairstyle and the classic image of men in military service.
Every decade since then it seems to have been reinvented to suit the style of the time and it now works well with a undercut hairstyle and a beard.
A great comb-over haircut requires the use of a very functional easy to use comb. I particularly like a classic comb, something from D.R Harris.
In this first pic you can see that the chap has a pompadour haircut a bit like an Elvis Presley look. What is incredible is the way it has been miraculously combed to create volume.
A interesting haircut on this chap. The sides are very short, layered up to a nice side parting hairstyle. A nice comb over has been applied and a styling aide like a Matt finish hold has been used.
This pic below has a nice tapered undercut with the hair at medium length on top. There is a a very small parting on the side and the hair has been combed over. That hairstyle must take a bit of time in the morning to create.
A good example of pompadour fade haircut where the sides have been tapered to quickly fade out above and around the ears and neck.
This is a slick back haircut which has been tapered on the back. Use a hairdryer and pomade to create the look.
I like how the side parting has been created, a good water based pomade will work to keep that hair in place. Oily pomades can be a nightmare to wash out.
Signing off! Regards, Alex.
