Jimi Hendrix Afro hair was every bit his signature look as his music. He would often wear a bandanna as well which really went well with his hippy clothes.
I managed to acquire some paid images of Jimi though there are plenty of images of him circulating the internet but these 5 images below really capture the man in his performance mode and you can really feel the energy and emotion coming from Jimi.
This first image was taken at Woodstock festival in 1969, a year before he sadly died in London in 1970 at the age of 27.
Jimi was musically gifted from a young age but it wasn’t until he was discharged from the Army in 1962 that he then went on to become well known as a musician. Things started happening for him in 1966 which is really incredible when you think that in only a very short period of time, like 4 years before his death that he had become a house hold name playing festivals like Woodstock and the Isle of Wight festival.
Jimi was incredible at playing the guitar and was was known to play it with his teeth which would have been something to have witnessed.
His legendary status has lived on today which is amazing!
Jimi had very curly Afro hair which often took on a life of it’s own. His hair always looked liked it was in a need of a trim but the free flowing curls meant that his hair style was very much in keeping with the look back in the 60’s and 70’s.
