David Bowie was a legend, a style icon, a pioneering musician and trend setter. People fondly remember him for his wild jackets, his use of slacks, hats and colorful suits.
Sadly David passed away this year at the age of 69 and I thought it was fitting to celebrate him in this article which showcases his numerous creative hairstyles that he had throughout his career.
David had a varied career having been noted for his acting, being a songwriter, a record producer and singer. He started out as a musician in 1963 and his first major success came with the song Space Oddity that was a top 5 song in the U.K charts in July 1969.
His final album was released in January this year which was entitled Blackstar, it is estimated that 140 million records were sold in his career including 11 number one album’s in the U.K alone. In 1996 he was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In this first picture below which was taken in 2002 you can see that he has long hair, he never shied away from mixing up his hairstyles.
I love this retro hairstyle below with the longer sides, medium length top and quiff. The hair is very choppy and works well with the the contour of his face.
The stylish pic shows David has a short slicked back hairstyle here which was a look he went for many times in his life.
The medium sweep with highlights. Wow, its great and I like how the ends split and have been snipped and thinned.
Love this which shows a perms and mullet combined in to one! This show’s his more glam look style.
In 1995 David went back to having his hair cut short.
In 2005 David Bowie had a more spiky haircut which is edgy and has form. He went for some sideburns which was always a trademark of his.
He had the same style in 2008 as well.
