Hello again, guuuuuys! How you’ve been? All good? I hope so! Well, recently we talked about festival men hairstyles and more recently we approached the hippie culture as a reference to mens hairstyles, this time I want to go deeper in to the subject and write about a dear topic of mine: Woodstock.
Some of you might have heard about it, some might not. That’s why I will make you an introduction and I will also make a disclaimer. This article is more an informative one than inspirational.
So what is Woodstock and why I love it?
First of all and briefly, Woodstock means 3 days of peace and music..and love. The Woodstock was a music festival organized by Michael Lang, John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, and Artie Kornfeld and friends. The festival took place in 1969, from 15 to 18 August on a dairy farm in New York state. This festival reached an audience of over 400,000 people, a number way bigger than the organizers expected – which made this festival so popular and famous.
If you didn’t know about Woodstock, now you do and you can share with others. Moving forward, I want to mention the people attending this festival. Woodstock’s attendants were mainly hippies – since this culture was at its highest peak at that time and this was also a way of theirs to share the peace and the love. I know the pictures are not the best – there wasn’t so many electronic facilities back then, but I believe that seeing the images the way they are makes you feel like you want to go into the story. Enjoy analyzing 1969’s mens hairstyle trends!
Woodstock finally took 4 days instead of 3, due to unexpectedly exceeding the number of people who were planned to be there. There were many famous bands and legends that took to the stage at Woodstock, like Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, the WHO, Santana, Joan Baez and many other names.
A plaque was placed at the original site commemorating the festival in 1984. The field and the stage area remain preserved in their rural setting and are still visited by people of all generations who share the same values.
I hope you enjoyed this informative article, leave us a comment below with what topic you’d like to read next!
Peace out! S.
